Whilst the wedding is happening at what is a stately country home, we’re not going to be completely formal. The wedding breakfast is going to be a relaxed, afternoon tea style, and we’re going to be creating a fun, countryside atmosphere with games, live music, an outdoor fire pit for the evening (it might get a bit chilly even in July, this is England after all!), and a rustic feel to the overall day.
Kids are welcome. There’ll be games to play and we hope they enjoy the day as much as we will. We respectfully ask that, during the ceremony or speeches, they do their best to be as quiet as a mouse!
We have many, many friends and family who are photographers or are rather good with a camera. We’ve got an amazing pair of photographers coming all the way from the north to cover the day, so don’t worry about taking photos too much. That said, during the ceremony and speeches, please leave photography to the professionals – we’d like our loved ones to be in the moment with us, not living it through a phone screen or through a camera lens. There will be a reminder on the day!
If you do take photos during the other parts of the wedding and want to share them, head on over to the gallery page and upload them! That way, they’re all on one place.
This is a thing! As you are coming to a gathering where photos and videos will be taken, please be aware that your image (you) may be taken and may make it into our photos. By attending the wedding, you understand this and, if we aren’t told otherwise, are accepting that you may well make it into photos and videos. If you do not want to be in any photos, videos, etc. please let us know so we can tell the photographers or tell the photographers on the day.
In this increasingly connected world, we know quite a few of you (and us) might want to put snaps and posts up on the old Facebooks and Instagrams and Snapchats and whatever else will be out by 2022. Having said that, please don’t share things that might cause embarrassment, offense, or get people into trouble. Some people might not want to be plastered online, so be respectful of other people’s wishes.
We have all the things that we could hope for in life and, as such, aren’t in need of traditional wedding gifts. If you do feel like leaving a gift, we would greatly welcome some financial help towards our honeymoon! There will be a place at the wedding to leave cards and well-wishes.
